FAYTHE BUCHANAN: PEER SUPPORT LISTENER
CHAIR OF THE PEER SUPPORT PROGRAM
When you want to reach out to share your story of challenge, Faythe is a Peer Support Volunteer waiting to listen. A year on a crises help line, creating a Peer Support Program for survivors of sexual assault, 30 years of listening as a therapist and Coach - these are resources Faythe brings to Peer Support.

In her personal life, Faythe survived childhood with a family immersed in poverty, and a father with PTSD from military service. She has experienced a ten-year marriage to a ‘functional’ alcoholic. Faythe knows time challenges from 17 years as a single parent of three, working full time as sole provider. She also knows change, having moved 36 times and spent 8 years living in another country (Scotland). Despite her stint as a psychotherapist, conversation with Faythe is not therapy. She knows how to listen and share. As a Speaker, trainer with15 years as a CAPS member, Faythe has perspective on the life of a speaker.
